FireFox problem

Postby expat » Wed Jan 25, 2012 9:02 am

Has anyone got an answer to the following............
When using Firefox 9.0 to view ebay, only the listing details and the pictures come up, no description as written by the seller. IE works without a problem. Now here is the odd part. If I view in item in IE and cut and paste the link to Firefox it displays correctly. As soon as I hit reload in FF, I go back the the limited information display. This also goes if I list anything. My description is viewable in IE, but not in FF. Anyone else with this problem, better still and ideas on a fix. I am really not a IE or Chrome fan.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Sounds like a plug-in isn't working. Are you getting the blue jigsaw piece at all? Or any message at the top of the screen about Firefox blocking something?

No nothing at all, however, I have Googled the problem in the meanwhile. It would appear it is a FireFox 9.0 problem and FireFox are recommending to downgrade to FF 3.6 ::) :-? :-?..................(ironic ;D)

Hi Expat,

I agree with the other opinions that the problem is likely caused by something missing from your install of FF 9, but have you considered upgrading to v10 rather than downgrading ?

I don't remember any problems with e-bay and FF9, but I was on e-bay yesterday ( 9th Feb ) looking for a replacement copy of FS X and it worked perfectly, and I have just been back there to check, and it worked properly again.

If you really don't want to adopt the current version, have you tried uninstalling FF 9 and re-installing it ?

Regards,

Chris Cosgrove   :)

I did a vid card update not to long ago for my nvidea. Ever since then FF will come up but it blacks in and out like a bad TV channel. Whats even worse, i have to use internet explorer for all my browsing but when i want to download something it kills itself (internet exp) and resets. I have to get my downloads from FF but have to put up with the blackouts on the page. I still havn't a clue how to fix it...
