A friend of mine turned me on to this little program last night and in my eyes... it is EXCELLENT!!!!!!!

you run the program right from your desktop and it will allow you to create an FTP style link to files / .zip folder that are stored on your HDD so that you can share the files faster \ easier than EMAIL OR YOUSENDIT.COM.   As far as I can tell there is no size limit that you can share being that the file is being downloaded directly from your computer to the person who you gave the link to for them to download it.

How it works::
Simply put your .zip file in the box on the upper left side, then click on your file that you just added.  An HTTP;//filename will appear just above that box for you to send to your friend.  It is a direct download link.

No more guessing.... Did I upload that file correctly? What is/was the file size that it has/had to be for upload? ... NO MORE UPLOADING to an offsite FTP (except for here of course!  ;)

Just thought I would pass it along.

For those that do want this little program, when you run it.. leave it in EASY MODE, and then click on MENU > IP ADDRESS > FIND EXTERNAL ADDRESS >> add your file, send out the link.    Just that easy.

Opens up security vulnerability on the system.  Someone can use this method to get into your system.  Bro-in-law is an IT guy with AT&T.  Delete the prog as ASAP!

Yeah, sounds like trouble. Though, this may be a good idea, you could just use like MediaFire, Frostwire, News Leecher, etc.

With fixes I bet this program would be ok, but sounds too risky.

Anytime you install software, you open security holes. This particular piece of software I am unfamiliar with. I would do a search for vulnerabilities associated with this software. What you are doing in this case is opening a port(s) to a shared folder on your computer. This in itself is not bad if you implement hardening on the rest of your system. HOWever, you do not need to download any software to do this. Everything you need to do this is already installed with the OS. Learn your Operating System. You would be wise to setup an FTP/Web/Shared Services system on a dedicated system and not your primary computer.
