just use RUN > MSCONFIG > Start up tab...... DESELECT everything that you basically do not NEED to startup when you turn the computer on.
Adobe ARM as default will be selected to run/boot at startup, just uncheck the box then restart the computer and it will not boot up anymore when you restart the computer. And there is no need to get into the registry.
