Anyone help with Virusscan problems?

Well, I noticed when doing a full scan with McAfee, it would always stop at 72%.
By looking at the file name ( unfortunately Macbeth doesn't give the full name of the file you're scanning ), I could trace it down to AppData.
By scanning every folder, I rounded it down that the troublesome file is in AppData/ Local/ Microsoft/ Windows.

Doing a scan of the Windows folder, it is indeed there.
But if I scan everything, all the subfolders and files within Windows, I cannot find it.

Are you saying that you can not see it if you are looking in the AppData/ Local/ Microsoft/ Windows folder with Windows Explorer?

Anyway for free download Malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

and Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Between the two of them they will pick up most malware.  If that does not work post over at Bleeping Computers and they can help.

Yep, Windows Explorer cannot find it.

Thanks for the links, I'll see what they bring up.

Malware bytes report that nothing suspicious is there, yet McAfee still can't get past that file.

I may be wrong, but I think programs like Malware, Spybot, etc, only look for Mail infections which you have picked up...

Whereas AVG (free), etc, Anti-Virus programs look for specific Virus's, Trojans, etc...;)...!

I regularly run both types of programs, to pick up anything nasty, whatever it is... :-*...!

Whatever one program wont pick up, another one will!

Paul... :)...!

Well, I tried skipping the file in McAfee and it turned out how I had two trojans and two potentially unwanted programs.

Thanks Paul, I'll try AVG on that strange file.

K, nearly got there now. The file is in Local/ Microsoft/ Windows/ Temporary Internet Files.
Latest problem is there seems to be now way of viewing  files which are "hidden", even fiddling in the control panel.

Thanks Doug.  ;) I don't use Internet Explorer anymore, so I guess that's why it was on my computer so long.
It turned out to be the demo of Arma II. I wonder why McAfee couldn't scan it though.
