I found my backup files where they said they are but I haven't tried restoring them.
There's also an option from Firefox\Bookmarks\Organize Bookmarks to Backup & Restore bookmarks.

Should be a file in there named bookmarks.html. That has links to all your bookmarks.
Also a folder named bookmarkbackups. This should contain all your recent automatic backups. I presume they can be restored from the option I mentioned.
