FSX on Windows 7  Ultimate build 7068 64 bit

Postby JHA » Sat Apr 11, 2009 1:41 am

Just did a clean install of FSX on Windows 7, and it seems to work ok.  Haven't completely tweaked the system yet, because I cannot access the system folders... I'm logged in as Admin, and have tried to change "ownership" of the files/folders, but it still denies access...

Wonder if Microsoft locked some files on purpose?

My downloaded 7 is a testingversion valid to March 2010...

Just set the folder options like you normally do. Its in the control panel and it helps to have it in the classic view so you can see everything.

Here's a link to "The Win 7 geeks"!

It seems that RC 7100 is out, both 32 and 64 bit...

It sure looks nice, but I've uninstalled FSX on Win 7 and gone back to good old XP 64 bit...No apparent performance gain IMO. Maybe it's "Lipstick on a pig" like NickN said a while back in another thread...

I suppose I should correct myself here...

May 5 is the rumoured official release date.

Don't worry... Win 7 is only valid to June 2010, it's still a testversion so you'll have to buy a "real" one then...!

In the meantime just do it, but beware of Trojans when downloading! My antivirus blocked a few of them.

It would be best to wait to avoid any possible malware that can come from pirated software...

the public release date for the RC has been officially announced as May 5
