Vista Processes and Startup

Postby a1 » Tue Sep 23, 2008 4:26 pm

I have 86 processes upon startup. :o

What should I have and what should I take down? How do we do it in Vista Home premium? It is taking forever to startup and do stuff.  :P

Sony Viao series 64x bit.

Had the same problem with my 32bit...

Try Easycleaner, I cleaned my system up well and I only have 50 processes running... supposedly no one has tried it on Vista 64bit but I don't see why it wouldn't just make sure to run as admin even if UAC is off. :)

51 on startup and 46 after cleaning out a few others... ;D

Impossible. You can only get down to 40 before your system becomes unstable.
I have 54 Processes running but most of them are very light processes requiring 0-.5% of my CPU during startup...
Internet security can take up to 5 minutes to startup on some laptops because of low processor power. Other than that you can try AMD Fusion to cut down processes (for an AMD processor of course) after startup. Not much else you can do. Welcome to the wonderful world of Vista a1 ;) ;D
