well, if all you're looking for is pretty graphics, then don't look at x-plane, as x-plane is more designed around making your own aircraft and simulation of the flight model, not the graphics. You are looking at X-Plane from the completely wrong angle, as all you want is pretty graphics, and that is FSX's strong area, X-Plane is more designed around custom content and flight modeling. Besides, you could have avoided all that heartache by downloading the demo....

XPlane is everything but about graphics.
If you're looking for graphics, go buy a playstation and play Ace Combat.

I agree the graphics are nowhere near as good as FSX but at altitude they're ok. And I don't have any problems seeing out windows. I think youi just need to get it figured out. The flight dynamics are better than FSX-especially helicopters.
FSX wins overall hands down. But don't give up on X-plane. Especially if you have a multicore machine as it uses all those cores.

Also, the views on X-plane made me give up on it.
Best buy won't let you return opened software even if you say it's defective :S.
The best you'll get is an exchange for another proggie or two (I got Accel & Bioshock instead

).

Best buy = unhappiness in many ways.
