New Search Engine

Postby Sean_TK » Mon Jul 28, 2008 9:31 pm

Kind of strange to be posting a new topic since I won't be able to respond for a while since I'm leaving on vacation, but I thought that I would leave you guys with news of a brand new search engine with a pretty nice browsing interface, just came online today I believe:
http://www.cuil.com/
^^It's pronounced like "cool"...
(It may be off-line intermittently due to heavy traffic as more people get word of this new thing...so if you click the link and it's not there, check back later...)

See ya guys in about a week!

I'm a bit wary of adding anything new to my new Firefox 3 Browser at the mo'...

With all the problems I am having lately with the dreaded "missing msvcr80.dll" constantly popping up in my Firefox 3, I have reverted BACK to Firefox 2, to see if that cures the problem... >:(...!

Funny thing is....Internet Explorer runs a treat...with no problems! ...:)...!

The present Google Search Engine seems to be OK... :)...!

I typed in a question yesterday, "How much caffeine is in A&W Root Beer".  It came up with "ZERO" responses, while Google delievers pages of responses, I will also stick with Google.

It's an ordinary search engine like Google or Yahoo! You don't need to add anything to your browser.

Can't say I like it though. I'll be sticking with Google.

I'll stick to Google. Not only is it familiar, but I can remember how to spell it... ;D

Anyone care to explain that?

It may just be me, but I really can't get any good results out of it atall.

Seems a bit sh*t if you ask me  :)

Alex - Sticking with Google  ;) ;D ;D

Good concept- I like being able to get a rough idea of the site before I click on it..

In practise- It has far too little working as the user would like. The caffeine post and the SimV forums one are examples. Google filters out the words that don't really matter... and likewise I will just stick to that.
