Waste bin/Trash can

This is a question for someone who really knows how XP or Vista functions deep down (I think). So here goes;
Is it possible to disable the waste bin on a temporary basis and use a user defined folder to store deleted files in?

Thanks

Matt

Not sure if this will help. I just discovered that it's possible to move files/folders from the Recycle Bin to another location. Edit/Move To Folder. This works on XP anyway.

That would work if nothing else can be found. Thanks Hagar.

..the snag with the default Trash Can is that the Missus can have a peek to see what you have dropped in there, hoping not to be found...
....and forgotten to put it out for the Dustman to collect...:-[...!

Paul...;).... ;D...!

Right Click Recycle Bin and click Properties. On GLOBAL tab click the DO NOT MOVE FILES TO RECLYCLE BIN check box. Click OK

Files will just automatically be deleted when they are put in the recycle bin.

That is for the problem of files staying in the bin. Not sure if that answers the initial question though.

It is not a question of deleting files as such. I take many pictures and I find it quicker to delete the "not sures" to separate everything out, rather save each and every picture to a new folder.I would like to be able to delete them to a new folder for later.

In your picture folder hold Ctrl and highlight the pictures you are unsure of individually ...... you will find that they all stay selected you can then move them to any other folder. As opposed to holding Shift (or using select all) and dragging over groups of files. Ctrl can also be used to deselect individual files out of a group.
