Bad news for Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE users

Like so many other companies, Lavasoft has discontinued support for what IT considers an outdated program. So I tried the new version (2007) and was let down to say the least. Anyone else?

Home computing USED to be a CONSUMER driven market. One where in the software companies would try to meet the demands of the public.

Now, it would seem, the market is dictating the consumers.

"Sorry, if you want to use your pc the way you have gotten used too, you must buy this new  hardware", or "We no longer support your operating system, please spend more money to keep using our products".

How did this happen? :(

I'm sure another freeware alternative will appear. This always happens in the marketplace. Someone gets vexed and does something about it. Alas I'm not a skilled enough programmer to do this...
