COD4 & Punkbuster Woes

Postby BFMF » Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:39 pm

Now that i've got high speed internet, I want to play some COD4 online, so I fired it up. I had an error related to my audio, but got that figured out. Next was an error telling me it was 'Unable to Initialize Punkbuster. Punkbuster is disabled'. The game gives me another error telling me Punkbuster needs to be enabled, so I enable it in the menu again, and join a game after only a few moments of gameplay (Basically enough time to get killed... ;D), I get kicked out with en error telling me that "Esselbach Punkbuster kicked player 'Esselbach' (for 0 minutes) . . . PB INIT FAILURE"

I tried re-installing the punkbuster program off the COD4 disk, but it doesn't change a thing. Does anyone know of a solution?

I'm so close, yet I so far... :-/

There might be a newer version of Punkbuster for download. I have heard the new versions solves this issue. I don't' know for sure though. It happens in MOH:A too.

Took your advice, did a little searching, and was able to find a way to update it. Thanks...! 8-)
