Firefox. Why?

Hello lads,

Got this idea when Mark posted his question about his Firefox problem. For as long as I can remeber there has been this Firefox logo/button on Simviation.com. I'm no user of Firefox, I use Maxthon. It's a browser with the IE engine but with a lot of extra options. Can someone explain to me what's so special about Firefox? I hear a lot of stories about it but what makes it better than IE for example?

Crash ;)

It runs faster for me, its easy to customise, loads of addons for it, looks better than IE. Thats my opinion.  ;)

Mozilla Firefox....

It very quickly came up with a very useful "Spell Checker" and "Dictionary".... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]....

...(shame they don't include "English" English!)... ::)....!

LOL... ;D...!

Paul....(England)... 8-)...!

It also includes my E-Mail from my ISP.... :)...!

* ...interestingly....If I want to include Picture attachments within my E-Mail text, I have to resort to using MS "Outlook Express", rather than my Firefox E-Mail Browser!!

Crash for f***s sake look at a pre-2.0.0.10 version 'cos after that seems to be shagged! I've just wasted 36 hours or so getting things working again and sadly V.2.0.0.0. seems to be more stable than 2.0.0.10 or 2.0.0.11 which both are about as stable as an epileptic weasel in a bowl of jelly during an earthquake!

I have Firefox 2.0.0.11 which I believe is the latest version as it updates automatically. I've had no problems with it.

My poor old rig has been up-and-down more times than a tarts knickers due to it Doug.
I've switched back to 2.0.0.0 and since then nay worries. I'm baffled as normally Firefox is so thoroughly tested before release but this time something seems amiss....

I'm wondering how you would switch back to a previous version. I assume only the latest version is available for download.

You have to remember that I've got a steam powered 7 year old machine. It seems to be held together with string, gaffer tape and chewing gum! It just doesn't agree with my rig.
I'm sitting here running 2.0.0.0 and nowt has gone wrong since putting it on the system 8-)

OK, I'll accept that but still don't understand how you reverted to version 2.0.0.0 or where Crash would download it.
