Why is Python on my PC

Can someone tell me why the Python programming language is loaded on to every Windows XP PC that I have?  Has anyone ever actually used this for anything?  I had to do a recovery on my HP PC and I am taking off everything that I never used, games, programs, etc. and since I never used Python I figured that I might as well get rid of it and then I started wondering who uses it anyway.

Regards,

Rod

Some games use it, like battlefield 2. Maby that is the reason?

They have Python within them, they don't need the Python programs installed.

I used to have it on an old PC, it was an HP. It was the only one I ever saw it on. I think it may be something with the HP configured XP

I have it too!

It took a while to remember where it came from but I tracked it down to a mod the kids installed for The Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion.
