Mystified!

Postby ozzy72 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 2:00 pm

Well I'm mystified, I've got a problem with my internet browsers, whenever I go into certain sites containing animations the PC just resets itself and starts booting up from scratch (literally it is like hitting the power switch on/off).
I'm using Firefox and all my plug-ins are up-to-date. I've repaired XP Pro. I'm totally at my wits end why some sites cause my machine to reboot for no reason, of course I can't find out what kind of animations are causing the reboot as I can't get into the offending sites.....
I've also re-installed Sun Java, I've disabled Java but still have JavaScript running in Firefox.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you check the error log on your PC?

Yup and there is nothing there! I configured the machine to produce an error rather than reboot and that isn't working either.
I'm beginning to suspect it is something to do with Java....

Whoops didn't look in the System Log.
There seems to be a regular occurrence of 10021 DLL or Registry problem. Odd thing is I've run the repair and that insists everything is fine. I've also re-install Firefox.......
