SVCHOST.EXE Virus?

Postby a1 » Wed Nov 21, 2007 9:30 pm

On Processlibrary it says that this is a virus and i should remove it immediately. What is it really? I see some sites say it's just a default process and some sites say it is a virus. I have 7 of them running on my processes so i need an answer.

What is it and if it is a virus how do I remove it?

Thanks

I have it, too.

Did you have ZoneLabs/Zonealarm at any time? It seems that it is back to haunt me so I can't access the internet on any other program (including the new firewall.) Quite annoying.

I think that's a normal process...You may have it confused for SCVHOST.EXE which is in fact a trojan...Notice how close it is to the original file ;)

svchost.exe is a system process belonging to the Microsoft Windows Operating System which handles processes executed from DLLs. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

Ironically, said file is both?!!!! :-? :-? :-?

Its a windows file, but is easily taken over by spyware and adaware. There you go!
