I really have no idea where this goes. I am assuming it has nothing to do with my router, so I will post here. Last year, in December, I received an ADSL 2+ internet connection (Draytek Vigor 2800, router). At first, it would download at a super high speed. My record, is 5000 kilobytes a second when downloading from a local host, and 1000, abroad, tested from Australia to Iceland. Now, I have found that locally, it has slowed to 1000KBs while abroad, it has slowed to 900 (go figure). Can someone explain what has happened? Does an internet connection decay over the months? I have not exceeded my download limit, so thats not it, and the contract ends this year. If there are any Aussies who can help, just for the record, I use an ISP called TPG.
EDIT: Actually, I worked it out. Turns out, all that data got "clogged" in my router after not restarting it for months. If the mods don't mind, could I leave this up here, for future reference for anyone else who has this problem? And I have another question...is it actually possible for the router to clog up if you do not restart it after long periods of time? Thanks for the help! ;)
