Guild Wars

Postby Tchkinjiu » Sun Jan 28, 2007 4:10 am

Well, after being off of WoW for six+ months now, I'd like to get into a casual play style on a different game, such as this.

I've been reading about it, and would like some input on it.  The no monthly fee is a major attraction, and frankly, it just looks cool, always exciting jumping into a new game not knowing what the crap to do  :P

If anyone have some unbiased comments, I'd be all for it.  ;D

- Suits your style (asian)
- Nice storyline
- Can be played solo (with AI party mates) for a while
- Well optimised graphics
- After a while, you really need an all-human party for every quest
- Lots to see, lots to fight, lots of stuff to collect

...and much more.
My advice: If you're into MMORPG, don't miss this one.

I played till LvL 17, but the game lost appeal after that, so I uninstalled it.

I guess I'm just not the MMORPG kind of person.

A friend lent me his account and I've been playing it, pretty good other than the fact I got stuck on a mission and lost interest in it, I think you might like it!

Well dang, seems to me like something very enjoyable, interesting, didn't know about the ai party.

I think I might as well get it, if I don't like it, then atleast I wouldn't have been paying any fees

All three are whole games set in the same world. The two newer versions contain more areas and weapons, other than that they're the same.

So, if I got nightfall (newest I think) it would contain basically everything in the first one, and then the added content in nightfall?

Get Nightfall. You're gonna get everything there ever was for GW. ;)

I personally didn't enjoy the game much. Just wasn't my style. EQ/EQ2 still have me hooked after many, many years though   :D... Enjoy GW =P

Before you go out and spend, consider this.

Each version of Guild Wars [Prophocies, Faction, and Nightfall] have their own campaigne that covers a different different part of a continent. When you buy one version, you only get to play that part of the continent. You don't get the others [regardless of which version] unless you buy the other two versions.

Guild Wars is more like Lord of the Rings with all the artistic clothing and the realistic likeness of the characters while WoW looks a little too cartoonish from the looks of the characters.

If Jessy is right, get Factions then.

But Ritualists...eww...

Assasins(/Monks) FTW! ;D

I heard some bad wrap about factions. I have had Prophies and Nightfall for quite some time and I have to say that they're both pretty good with variety and storylines.
