Hi all
I have just purchased the dvd version of of farcry and set the video settings to high but all I seem to get are most objects are blue, When I set everything to the low settings everything appears.
Here are my system specs
Dual core P4 3.4
1 gig ram
asus gforce 7600 GS silent 512 meg pci-e card
windows xp sevice pack 2
Does anyone here have farcry and has the settings on high
Love to know what is going on
Cheers
Rhys

Purchased about 2 years ago maxed out on x1950 with no problems.
This game was released with the FX 5900 XT so should work maxed out with your system.

system specs in sig.
im running Far Cry too, and it works fine on full settings. the only issue i hav, is water refraction, scope effects, and heat blur effects, otherwise my Far Cry is flawless.
i downloaded the Far Cry patches, to get up to version 1.33, so shaders were fixed for SM3, but the patches didnt install for some reason. im fine with the way it is, i just turned off those shader-wanting settings.
edit:
sorry, i just thought of a fix.
Go into Far Cry, and put all the settings up! Then close Far Cry.
In the start menu, under Far Cry, click on 'Configure Far Cry'.
Click on the video options (advanced) tab, then click customize.
Click on environment quality, and you see the value r_VolumetricFog, set that value to '0'.
Click on Water Quality, and you see the value e_use_global_fog_in_volumes, set that also to '0'.
If you also have shader issues, effecting water refraction, heat blur, and the scope effects, then set these to '0'.
Water Quality->r_WaterRefractions
Special Effects Quality->r_HeatHaze
Special Effects Quality->r_ScopeLens_fx
that should fix a few known problems
edit 2:
i actually get the blue-objects in the Far Cry Sandbox Editor, so i have to turn off fog. looks like ur actually getting it in the game. download the patches, in sequence, so urs can be Far Cry 1.33, which supports shader model 3, which will allow for better performance, and all the avaliable features...

sorry, but i did say that i couldnt install the patches for some reason, so im stuck with SM2 support which makes certain effects screwy...
