Creating an auto-installer for FS9 software

Probably not the right forum for this, but I'm not sure where to ask this, and mods please feel free to move this to the appropriate forum if there is one.

Does anyone know how to or have experience creating an auto-installer program to use with add ons for FS9.  We'd like to create our own auto-installer to install our miltary ai packages and allow us to use that installer to install ai aircraft models, effects, afcad files, scenery files and even Edit Voicepack files.  I know some user aircraft designers have auto-installers for their aircraft that they release, Kirk Olsson has one for the F-86 just off the top of my head.

Is there software out there that can help you create this kind of program?

I'll help...  I usually use Install Creator (Free!!!, if you don't mind their link at the end of your little installer) http://www.clickteam.com/eng/installcreator.php
It's never been troublesome to me!
Good luck ;)

If you decide to use the Clickteam Install Creator please disable the Uninstall option when configuring your files. Unfortunately this option is selected by default. Also test the auto-install very carefully before posting your addons.

Thanks guys, will do.  It's just an option we're looking at right now.  I've tried it with a couple AI packages and it seems to work fine so far.

I think I tried the Clickteam installer once. I got nowhere with it...

It's actually quite easy to use. You have to know what you're doing & configure the files correctly first. If addons are configured properly they should be easy to install without an auto-installer.

There's the operative phrase: "You have to know what you're doing," et cetera... I could make neither heads nor tails of the instructions provided. I don't know my path from a hole in the ground...
