Windows media player suddeny showing bizarre color

I just tried to play flightsim video off of a PC Pilot magazine disk.

All of a sudden, if I try to play a video clip in windows XP media player, the image plays normally and the sound is fine BUT it is in sort of blocky bright pastel (almost florescent) colors instead of the normal photographic quality.  A still shot would look like a poster out of the 60's.

Any suggestions for a fix?

best,

.................john

wat version of media player r u using e.g. 10 or 11?

if its 11, then right-click the title bar to get a menu.

goto view->enhancements->video settings

it'll show a section at the bottom which will allow u to choose the color stuff for the video.

this bar/section is also usefull for other things like play speed, or media player's colour.  to access these other settings, use the left/right arrows at the top left of the bar ;)

John ditch WMP! Get Media Player Classic, it runs much better and unlike WMP has never given me any codec issues ;)

- VLC player
- Media Player Classic + codecs

Decisions, decisions... ;D
