COD2 vs H&D2

Well, I brought Call of Duty 2 so when it arrives (either tomorrow or early next week) I will finally be able to compare it properly to H&D2. Having played the demo though I feel as if I know how my conclusions are going to go. COD2 looks nice, and sounds nice. But all in all the gameplay doesn't seem to different from MOH. In that you have a mission that can only be completed in a certain order, so unless you complete one objective you cannot move onto the next. In H&D2 you have a mission, you have a map and everything after that is down to you to do how, when and as you please.
Still, that experience is entirely based on having played the full version of H&D2, but only the demo of COD2. So we shall see.
Another thing I noticed though, in COD2 the bren looks lovely. The Enfield however looks like a straw broomstick. If Illusion Softworks managed to procure examples of as many weapons as they could to base their models of, surely the COD2 developers could too?
Anyway, enough, I await the wrath of the diehard COD2 folks we have here.
