Sending more packets than receiving?

Howdy guys,

I've been having this problem for a while now and never really been able to solve it. Some of the time when I connect to the wireless network we have at home, my connection is deadly slow, and I seem to be sending more packets than recieveing. I then have to wait about 2/3 mins for google to load, then refresh as many times as I can to get the received packet number higher than the sent. This seems to fix the problem, but I am wondering how its caused? Im nearly 100% sure I do not have any badware, or viruses, and run 2 or 3 seperate antivirus scans. Could it be something to do with the signal?

Cheers,
|Alex|

Normally this is caused by some corruption in the transmission causing the checksum not to add-up properly so it needs to send or receive the packet again. Wireless networks are more prone than wired ones but neither are immune. A good idea is to make certain that you've not positioned any of your network near large magnetic fields (speakers) and other things that can generate interference ;)
You might also want to check the shielding on cables if the problem persists ;)
