Sending more packets than receiving?

Howdy guys,

I've been having this problem for a while now and never really been able to solve it. Some of the time when I connect to the wireless network we have at home, my connection is deadly slow, and I seem to be sending more packets than recieveing. I then have to wait about 2/3 mins for google to load, then refresh as many times as I can to get the received packet number higher than the sent. This seems to fix the problem, but I am wondering how its caused? Im nearly 100% sure I do not have any badware, or viruses, and run 2 or 3 seperate antivirus scans. Could it be something to do with the signal?

Normally this is caused by some corruption in the transmission causing the checksum not to add-up properly so it needs to send or receive the packet again. Wireless networks are more prone than wired ones but neither are immune. A good idea is to make certain that you've not positioned any of your network near large magnetic fields (speakers) and other things that can generate interference
You might also want to check the shielding on cables if the problem persists
