deletes the current window. If I got to press Shift W and accidently hit the control button I lose my work. This can be devestating sometimes. Where on the computer can I alter this shortcut?
Cheers,

Well try it. Try anything. Click a folder, click a music file, click your internet browser and then press control w.
If I am writing a big email or post and it gets lost because I hit the shortcut it is terribly annoying.

Funny thing, I'd forgotten about that shortcut. And I've never hit it by accident.

You're right, it works... unfortunately according to both the control panel, and searching MS Help, the shortcut doesnt exist ??? as to why this is im not sure. I'd just say keep ctrl+s'ing your work, and save regular drafts of emails.

I never knew this shortcut existed.* As you obviously do I think the answer is to be extra careful when typing.
*PS. Thanks Ben. This could come in very handy.

Control+W is indeed recognized by Windows...the command is to Close Current Window...It could be an alternative to Alt+F4...Go to
www.ctrlw.net for a related exercise

Here's a list of all shortcuts:

Hmmmm.

It would appear so. I've never hit it by accident, and neither has anyone else here by the looks of things.
