Hurrah!!

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Sun Oct 08, 2006 11:38 am

OMFG!! I actually did it!!! I ACTUALLY DID IT!!!! I just installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

This has opened up many new possibilities (maybe FSX)...It appears to run very normally and I am already experiencing faster system performance for some reason...

Cheers,
Ashar ;) ;)

Dude are you serious? How did you not expect that? Running a fully updated SP2 is probibly one of the most stable things ever, and its very very fast to boot.

Do you now understand why we tell everyone to get or keep SP2?

Actually I've just had a thought, I reinstalled windows when I rebuilt my PC and I'm buggered whether I know if SP2 is installed on my machine or not. Seems like I'm gonna have to do some digging.

If you don't get reminded to update to SP2 every time you log in, you have SP2. As of...now (If I rememer right) MS has cut support of SP1. Looks like your all going to need SP2.

Go to the,  start menu- right click on my computer then click properties.
It will state on the General tab what version of Windows your running.

I've turned off all the automatic update things I could find so it tells me nothing ever. Turns out that it is SP1 though. So I'll probably attempt the upgrade at some point. Though having said, as automatic updates have been off for over six months, my XP isn't getting support anyway so whats the difference?

Can anyone supply me with a link to the SP2 download?

Just go to Windows update. That'll get you up and running.

Just realized I may not have reinstalled SP2 after the last time my XP config file corrupted.
