If I upgrade WMP then I uninstall my existing version before downloading the new one and fully installing the updated version. I find most programs when they offer upgrades cause trouble...

M$ isn't the only one with this issue. I have an ATI graphics card that requires me to first uninstall the old drivers before putting in new ones. But even then, the new driver didn't want to install because it keeps telling me that I already have a driver installed. My frustrations ended when I started using the Omega drivers from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ instead of from www.ati.com.

You should always uninstall the old drivers before installing new ones, Omega drivers included.

Uh, I know that already. I'm just saying that even uninstalling old ones first didn't seem to help.
