Not sure, as I only have v.7 but I'm sure it can't be that different. I like it for the scenarios. They're pretty neat.

Whilst accuracy wise v8 is better the graphics of the model aren't all that much better. For pretty fly FS. For mastering flying fly X-Plane

I have v8 as well. After that I upgraded it with the global scenery [comes in DVDs]. The DVDs costed me only $40 as an upgrade for my v8 but that was a limited-time offer a long time ago.
