Looking for some opinions from those in the know.

Windows 64, is this OS worth trying? reason I ask is due to the fact most my hardware is 64bit ready and i wondered is I would see any better performance running it with Windows 64 instead of XP Pro?

Or is Windows 64 buggy like XP was at first.

Another concern is the software issues, after reading through some stuff at the MS site I wonder how much of the software I use would be useless on Win 64.

I have already got some conflicting recommendations from friends telling me that Im killing my hardware with XP and need to switch and then also been told that I would be killing myself by switching ,lol. So now Im confused.

Is there any benifit to switching to Windows 64?

in order to use my D-Link wireless card, i had to use an atheros wireless driver, since D-Link doesen't provide 64bit support, nor will they in the future.

also, beware about 32bit programming freaking out. yes WOW64 works wonders, but not always.

long story short, if you want to struggle to get a happy OS, then this is for you.
