Hi Guys,

Just got a new PC :) Got one slight problem though, whn I boot up it logs me straight on to one of the user accounts out of the 4 without displaying the welcome screen or asking for the account password. So does anyone know how to fix this, by the way I have tried control panel>user accounts>change the way users log on and off>use the welocome screen, that box is checked, but it still just logs straight on to one of the accounts, any ideas?

Thanks Matt

I belive you can set that in BIOS if not try using TweakUI a Windows power toy.

I don't think it's anything in setup (CMOS (BIOS))..

It's a Windows thing.. I fixed this not long ago.. can't remember exactly but I know it was:

Control Panel / User Accounts

Go to "Control Panel", then "User Accounts", then "Change the way users log on or off", then make sure "Use the welcome screen" is checked, and "Use fast user switching" is unchecked.  Hope that helps. ;)

I just tried unchecking use fast user swiching, no difference, I didn't think that would work, as that is checked on the other pc, and that boots up to the welcome screen, this is realy annoying me now

Take a look at the user options with the Run command below. Try with the checkbox checked and unchecked for user must use password. You can also adjust properties for each account. :

Start > Run > control userpasswords2

If that doesn't help, try the TweakUI utility from MS, which has options for logon, among other neat tweaks.

You could try getting rid of the guest account.
