flight simulator problem!

i am having a problem adding add-ons on to flight simuator 2004 , i have downloaded the add-on unziped them , and put them in the correct directories, I then go onto flight simulator and no add-on is appearing.I refer the read me file in the download and it is all correct ,and the strange thing is that i have been able to add loads of addons before ,can anyone help me
