I agree, I have been wanting a game on the series for a long time. There is pleanty to make a game about. The fact its an independant company making it means the excuse about the series and money is redundant. After all the work they have done on it already it seems stupid to stop at the last hurdle.
I spoke with some friends about this. Some of them came up with some interesting theories as to why the company cancelled. For example: Think of the amount of money it takes to make the game [paying the actors, paying MGM for the liscense to use the series and turn it into a game, etc.]. Basically, legal issues would arise if the game is based on a TV series, especially if the company is independent from the series' parent company.
The man in the article pointed out some technical issues with the game [ie: CTD, lock ups, etc.]. Maybe the game was becoming too complicated to be maintained by most systems. But then again, what can be more complicated than FS?
