Hi Guys and Ladies,    I know I'm behind the times,    But what is  "Vista".             caveman
My PC's Specks:  Case:  Thermaltake v7000c/ 5 very quiet case fans.  Motherboard: AMD/ASUS-A8N32-Sli Deluxe Socket 939  Processor:  AMD Athion 64x2  4400+/Socket939 Dual Core.  Operating System:  Windows XP Hom

Vista is the Retail name of longhorn
its the next version of windows.

Yeah, and to exploit it you're going to need some pretty decent hardware, like a Directx 9 compliant videocard with decent memory and performance and 512MB RAM.  :)

I keep seeing posts that state Vista will require DirectX9. I was under the impression that DirectX9 was pretty much standard for the last 18 months or so, maybe longer. Does anyone still use DirectX > 9.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

If you are asking if anyone uses something less than DX9 as in directX 8, or 7, then yes, some people still do. People with older video cards use older directX.

I thought Vista was going to coincide with DX10.

I thought Vista was going to coincide with DX10.



thats the plan.

Dx9 will be out by what, june-july. it has to be when Vista is out. we were talking about this in the FSX forum.
