Very slow startup

Postby GeForce » Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:58 pm

Hi all! Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this.

In the last couple of days this PC has got really slow at starting up. I have no idea why. I've checked msconfig (all normal), done a system restore, cleared temp files.

P4 2.4
512mb RAM
Geforce FX5500
160 Western Digital HDD

Thanks anyone and everyone ;D

Might be a virus or spyware. Or you burnt something on one of the cards.

There'll be a very large, resource hungry program that starts up with the computer and slows it down no end.* Run a check for spyware and other such nasties.

*No, it isn't XP.

Well I've defragged and de-spywared, and it seems just about back to normal now.

Touch wood!
