Hello, Lads and Lasses...!

...another little query* for you.!

Normally, when you install a program, it generally defaults to "Program Files" on your main hard drive, "C" Drive....
This allows you to be able to detect it with "Add/Remove Programs" un-installer, in the Control Panel Folder, if the program does not come with its own un-Installer program either in the program folder, or on the program CD......
Now....
What happens when you direct the program to be installed on a Drive or partition other than your "C "Drive, and it doesn't come with its own un-installer...?
It is not possible to direct  "Add/Remove Programs" to point to a location other than "Program Files" on the main "C" Drive...!!
...and without a proper un-install, ie, Delete, files will be left in the System Registry.

....any ideas of an Un-installer program "out there" which will perform that function**....!

Try out Ashampoo Uninstaller. Google it and download a trial version... then kiss goodbye all your troubles with non-uninstalling programs... ... ...!

I have heard good things about Ashampoo but I have never used it.  I have used Total Uninstall for years without problems.  Version 2 is still free.  http://www.martau.com/

I've never had to use a program which did not come with an uninstaller.

I know that you can remove programs with add/remove on all partitions and hard drives provided they were installed on the same OS (i.e. a win98 OS can't uninstall a program on an XP OS hard drive.)

Most programs come with uninstallers but most uninstallers are wholly inadequate at cleaning up their registry entries and many ignore the changes/additions they make to system files.

However, I rarely install something thats so bad that I need to uninstall it. Everythig I install is something I plan to use and probably won't uninstall.

Plus, I reinstall windows every 6 months just to clean my hd. (Thats also how I deframent my hd...)
