WinXP won't open up .zip files anymore

It must be a bug I reckon, mine has started buggering around with rar files...
Have you reinstalled winzip?

I think that Win XP has lost the recognition of .ZIP files. If this is the case, then simply go to
Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types
Scroll down to .ZIP and make sure that it 'Opens with...' 'Compressed (zipped) folder' or WinZip.

P.S. I found that the default Windows downloader did not have a "resume" function...

If my computer dis-connected, (2-hour dial-up), half way through, I had to start all over again...

Am I missing something here? LOL!
i found IZArc to be a usefull sipping utility, always used WinZip but find IZArc to be a lot better, handles any type file and easy to use!

It only had two functions...download and un-zip...automatically.....!
..only prob was, it also filled my 'puter with spyware...
... ...!
..but I loved it for it's sheer simplicity......!
