I don't know where to post this so move it if you wish.

What do you guys know about the flight sim X-plane?  I have heard that the flight models are much more accurite and there are more planes and better weather?

Better weather?  How can you have better weather than FS?

The flight dynamics are more realistic, the visuals are not as good as FS. i.e. more emphasis on realisim than on 'eye-candy'. It's a pretty good sim IMO, although it has its bugs.

The graphics are nowhere near as good as FS and there are nowhere near as many planes, but it's about as real as it gets for flight models and procedures...  :)

X-plane isnt terrible, Just a bit..... Boring on longer flights, Its like flying over nothing but sparse FS land lol...... But it is very realistic is the Dynamics, Cheers! Gunny

For learning to fly properly with all the little details X-Plane is the master. However for sheer pleasure and learning  most of the flying stuff you'll be hard pressed to beat FS.
I've got both and like them, but I log more hours in FS ;)

The NASA Mobile Aeronautics Education Lab uses X-Plane for there shuttle simulation. Although it is not as detaild visually x-plane has been used by test pilots and designers to actually design an airplane and calculate flight charachteristics

The people who created and flew Space Ship 1 have used X-Plane for the same reason.

Very good stuff. And I like the Aircraft editor it came in with.
