I'd run a scan just in case....I'm curious though...when you say it "didn't look suspicious", how did you come to that conclusion?

Well its my dad's email account aswell, and he often gets replys saying "thanks or much appreciated".
This one said " Thanks for the infomation", and had numerouse forward's on it. To me and my dad this seems pretty normal.

Thanks.

Okay, that's the first problem.  What in the world could possibly seem normal about that?

Here's the analogy I'll give you.  It's the same one I give my mom, who seems to subscribe to the same school of thought you do.

Go shake hands with 10,000 people.  Then come home and lick your palm.  Get it good, in between the fingers and all...then see if you get sick.

When you open an email that's been forwarded that many times, and you have no idea what it is, that's exactly what you're doing.

No i forgot to the say the most crucial part,my dad is a building contractor and he often gets emails saying thanks for the work, or much appreaciated. So thats why the email didn't look strange.
Sorry i didn'tmention this, as this part was cruical.

Then what I'd suggest he do is get email addresses from clients, that way he knows the address when he gets the email...also make sure you scan all attachments prior to opening them.... ;)

Yes thanks for the info. I m sorry i didn't mention this, i probally sounded like a woman, but i know what im doing lol. I havent had a virus in months until now!

The web account he uses is tiscali, this doesn't have a built in attachment scanner and yahoo does. Looks like a painful process of changing and converting!

FYI Norton AntiVirus has a manual scanner...I'd much rather do it manually.  The less I depend on the PC the happier I am!

I have NAV on the main pc, but puttin NAV on a laptop is a killer because of the memory it uses.

Well i have done a Scan with pc cillin and no threats found, also i downloaded the netsky removal tool from syamantec and ran it in safe mode, no virus found. Also ran it again in normal mode, no virus found there.
What you think? is it safe in the quarantine? It cannot clean the file, so it sticks its self in there.

Not being an expert, I think it sounds like you're pretty clean right now...I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will jump in and correct me!
