PC Sleep Timer

Some of you may have read about my sleeping with music thread thread I posted recently, and updates have developed!  My dad (being the more down to Earth of my two parents) has told me unless I find a way to shut down my computer when I sleep, he's gonna get a timer for the plug.  Of course I'm a bit wary of just kicking the plug out without a proper shut down, and now I'm searching for options.  Are there any applications out there that you can download that act like a sleep timer for your stereo?  Small use and minimal system pervasiveness would be ideal.  Also, when I go to bed, I "Lock the Workstation" as Windows puts it.  Basically a log off while keeping all programs running.

Ideas?

It may be worth investigating the Bios of your PC - it may have something along these lines - not sure.

1 thing I found! -

I am doing the same thing. I have downloaded a shutdown plugin for winamp. When winamp reaches the end of the playlist it just shuts down the computer.  You can find the plugin on the winamp site.

Next to being shot at and missed, nothing is really quite as satisfying as an income tax refund.

Actually I believe this has been discussed informally in the jokes forum and it turns out that the satisfaction is short lived.. ;)

I do believe the term for this is: Intaxication

"The euphoria of receiving a tax refund, and then shortly later realizing that it was your money in the first place..."

;D :o
