Just a little tip...
..but I expect most people know about it anyway...

Bring up Google...>>>

Type the name of the annoying pop-up in the search bar and hopefully get some sympathy, or at least, an idea of how to get rid of the bleedin' thing... ;)... ;D...!

Best solution for pop-ups I've seen so far is to use the (free) Mozilla Firefox browser. Some ActiveX-dependent functions won't work, but for me that's one site in a hundred, and I can just open IE if needed. Firefox simply won't allow pop-ups, and it's more secure in general...

Firefox has been great. Also just found the FireTune utility that tweaks up Firefox. Just ran it and it's nice.

I am sold on Firefox and it's components.

Those interested, Firetune available here:

For Firefox version 1.xxxx

Also a good idea to have some sort of anti-spyware software.

....is it just me....
...or do I get the impression that most all free spyware blockers seem to add even more spyware to my computer... ::)... ::)... ::)...?

Many claim to be anti-apyware and yes, they do add spyware that the software then "finds" and "removes".

Here are some ligit ones:
Spybot search and destroy
Adaware (My fav)
MS Anti-Spyware

And the MS anti-spyware actually works great and is very good. Keep in mind its still a beta though and still has issues to work out.

Before my windows puked on me a few days ago, I had more pop ups then anything, I ran Two Pop up blockers (The SP2 one) and a yahoo one, neither were doing spit...... Any suggestions? I also ran Adware, Spybot, Some online Virus scanner, and Norton Antivirus, and I still had junk coming up.... Never really bothered to ask for help on it though, any is welcome! Cheers, Gunny

I'm tryin something called CounterSpy, it has a 15 day free trial but on first run it found 3 spyware objects the NoAdware and Spybot didn't.
Only thing I don't like is that it is payware with a subscription, that and I noticed by going through my firewall traffic report that it connects for updates via Microsoft.com ??? Don't know what that is about.
Other than trying a few various scanners I and also many others here will agree recommend Firefox!!!
