Freecorder allows you to do up to 30 mins for free through your mic ;)

I use audacity for most (if not all) of my audio editing stuff....very good little app.

If you're going to use it to export as MP3, you'll need to find a file name lame_enc.dll....google it, it's very easily findable.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Doesn't windows come with sound recorder?

You can use that. It is however limited to certain file formats.

Audacity kicks ass guys! thanks.

The sound recorder with windos only records 60 secs worth of sound.
