I don't know if you can actually remove it, seeing how it's a part of windows and would probably screw your OS over.
But you could always just delete all the shortcuts leading to IE.

DON'T get rid of IE ....... some software requires it for help files etc. You'll also find that some sites don't work fully with Firefox. Keep IE there as a backup.
As said above ......just delete the shortcuts if you don't want to look at them.

It can be un-installed but not recomended.
Like the others say some features of Windows need it.
Such as Automatic update (i know you don't use that ;) )
and just about anything that ties into M$ uses it for everything.

This is what I was going to say, there have been some sites I have been to that didn't work with Mozilla.

well, i do like
>the tabs better than separate windows
>the google search bar
>takes up less resources
>the popup blocker allows popups that you click

i really like the tab thing, it clears up my taskbar.

what I don't like
>not compatible with everything

this and trillian go great at minimizing computer use.

Personally, I hate the tabs and I prefer Yahoo as to google. As for resources, IE takes up none as it is technically part of the Operating system while firefox does as it is a seperate entity from the OS. And IE does have a popup blocker that works like the one in Firefox.

I mainly just use firefox for its security which is the best. I pretty much hate it though for its features.

As for uninstalling IE, you can uninstall parts of the browser componet, but thats not recommened. IE is still good as a backup solution. I recommend against uninstalling it.
