FS9- suddenly all hell's broken loose-cfg??

I started a thread in the generic FS forum, but I thought I'd post here as I'm desperate... Recently, after re-installing CFS3 and setting up/recalibrating my Saitek X45 joystick for that game, I've been plagued with wild uncommanded control surface movements and a diminished engine power range for all aircraft in FS9. Also, every time I start the sim, I find that my button assignments, and sometimes the sensitivities and bands, have changed. This install has been rock-solid for months, and all I've done is install a few add-ons and re-install CFS3, so I'm baffled. A member suggested a duplicate FS9 cfg file might be the culprit, but all I found was the original plus a text version of the same file with a different creation date as well as a record of a recent modification. Anybody out there seen this problem before?

Have you looked in your game controllers list in the "control panel" ? check you joystick profile, it may be set for CFS3 which would then mean some FS9 settings won't be the same
I have trouble at times when swictching sims I will leave a profile for one on that won't work with the other well.

No, but thanx... as it turns out, I was having the same trouble with PF and CFS3... just wasn't acting up when I checked those earlier. Opening the Saitek profile editor showed the calibration to be all whacked-out, even though I'd just done it. For example, the aileron axis alignment dot was jumping all over the place, hence the uncommanded roll. The rudder was sort of trembling when left at center (indicated by the red bar you see in the calibration page); that explains the floppy rudder in all three sims. And as for the throttle: maybe my controller is starting to show wear and tear, but it won't reach max unless I actually twist it slightly for that last bit after pushing it all the way forward.
