:o :o :o :o :o

I got Internet Explorer as my default browser. I'm experiencing some minor problems with it. I heard that Firefox with Thunderbird is even better. Any comments?

Thunderbird won't help you. It is NOT an internet browser.

Firefox is a recommened download even if you manage to fix IE.

Firefox is more secure to use. It also has less crap in it that could screw up. Its definitely worth a download.

Agree Firefox!!

Scrap IE (just keep it for a few sites that might require it) after using Firefox you'll be happy you did, totally customizable!!

Thunderbird is also a nice email application!

Can these programs work side by side with Outlook (I don't use Outlook, but just curious) and IE?

Any conflicts?

Yup.

I'm a happy Firefox user since the days of beta 0.7. ;)

Firefox won't affect outlook.

Btw, if you have outlook, don't bother getting thunderbird. Thunderbird is actually kind of bad.

However, definitely get firefox and experience the internet WITHOUT errors.

Maybe its just me, but Firefox seems to be just a little bit slower than IE, but it is well worth it.

I find it hard to belive anything is slower than IE ;)

I have heard others mention this but it isn't on my end, IE is painfully slow! But once you get used to FF you'll be pleased there are many extensions you can add to customize it to your liking.

Personally, I find Firefox considerably slower than Internet Explorer when used on a 56k Modem... :'(...!
IE loads the page instantly, but Firefox loads the page picture/text by picture/text over a period of time, bit by bit..... :'(...!

I use IE for most of my instant browsing, and Firefox for some sites which will not display... ;)...!
I also prefer the text editor in IE... ;D...!

I have shortcuts for both IE and Firefox on my desktop for instant selection... 8)...!

Cheers all...!

Paul...56k dial-up... 8)...!

By the way, with Win '98SE and IE, I don't seem to have the security problems that IE and Win XP users are experiencing...... ;)...!
We '98 users are a forgotten breed by the hackers...Tee-Hee... 8)... ;D...!
