Pacific Fighters

As mentioned in another post thanks to Gary R who doesn't even live by me pointed me to a place to buy Pacific Fighters.
I wanted to know who here already has been playing it, and what do i need to know before installing?

I did notice that there is already a 60Mb patch available with some others on the way, what do they do and do I need them? (this is now habit, checking for updates before purchase or install)

And are there any known problems one should expect after first installation?
I have read about the graphic card driver problems that all sims seem to face and most appear to be affecting those with ATI cards, are there any major problems with Nvidia?

Thanks in advance!
Jeff

Nothing.

Why would there be patches if you didn't need them?? ::)
There are two different versions. One for the stand-alone installation of PF and one for the merged PF/AEP/FB installtion.

And are there any known problems one should expect after first installation?

No.

Runs fine on my 9700pro.

.

The same reason that FS9 has a patch that I don't need ;)

I was curious about the PF patch I'll be using the one for the stand alone, just wasn't certain if it was necessary, or fixes issues that would affect me. I know some patches are aimed at glitches in multi-player and if that is what this patch does I don't need it, because I never play multi-player.

I've thought the same way until I had to re-install FS. "Ah what the heck...",slapped it on my system et voil

I got this and cant even play it properly yet  :(

The game is not compatible with the Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick, BOOOOOOO!!!!!

The throttle on my joystick is not picked up by the game! I tried the patch and nothing.  Tried emailing Ubisoft and nothing.  Their customer service is crap!

Uninstalled it and its staying that way until its sorted!

I love this game.  I posted a couple of pics in the payware section, if ya wanna see.  I had an issue w/ the copy protection not recognizing the "play" disc, but was resolved w/ a no cd patch.  Damage modeling is incredible.  I dropped a bomb last night from low altitude and the concusion broke the glass on my instruments.  How cool is that.

p.s.  I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick, and it seems to be fine.

I got a reply from Ubisoft eventually!  They have realised there is a problem with this model of joystick and I just have to wait for a patch to be released.

God I hate patches!!!!

I have finally finished downloading the current one and at 60+ Mbs took just 14 hours  >:(
I can't wait until these frickin rednecks can learn how to stretch a cable another mile!!!

Not going to install at first I have yet to install the game. I wanted to have the patch already in case if it is needed ;)

You dont need to do anything, just make sure you click PF Standalone, as it will save you a lot of anguish.

Didn't the patch update the water effects though?  thought thats what I read somewhere as well as doing other stuff like adding new aircraft??

All I know is that one doesn't fix my joystick problem so I am sat here waiting for the next one! hope that wont be 60meg though.
