Can anyone know where on the NET i can find a copy of it
I think you have to buy it

I don't think 6.0 is the latest version, so you may be able to pick it up a reasonable price.

There are any number of places where you can purchase Visual Basic 6 or Visual Basic.NET.
If you're just interested in programming in general and not something that specifically plugs into FS9 there are any number of free languages - java, perl, python, ruby, and on and on and on.
There are also free C compilers that might be able to produce gauge files. I'm not very familiar with any of them, though. The only freeware C compiler I've used is the GNU compiler that comes with linux.

I wonder... Is there a way to get that to work in Windows?

Funny you should ask. There is a freeware package called cygwin that lets you run a lot of linux software, including the gnu gcc compiler, on windows.
I just now took a minute to go look for free c compilers for windows and found
www.willus.com. Never seen it before but there's a link on the left for Win32 C/C++ Compilers. If you follow the link there's even a listing for a free Microsoft compiler. I haven't spent more than a couple of minutes on the sight but it looks like a place to start.

Also I don't know what your educational status is, but I was able to obtain a copy of Visual Studio .net 2003 for free by visiting my universities library...;-)
