Problems on SIS315 new graphic driver

Postby flambart » Fri Nov 05, 2004 8:33 am

After many months of FS9 fun, I've installed the newest driver for my graphic card (a SIS315P-64 by ECS).
The driver versione is 3.57.53 (file XABRE35753).

Any other graphic application on my PC has been ease and speeded-up, except for FS9: panels have completely disappeared from my screen ! For compensation, they appear sometimes in the sky, more or less dimmed

I've tried to re-install the former driver, with no success at all (problem remains)

Anyone of you has encountered the same problem ?

Some further detail:

CPU: PIII clocked at 1.15 GHz
RAM: 256 MB
AGP : 4x

Thank you very much in advance to any helping hand

Ciao

I had that same problem with the latest Nvidia driver. I ended up with my Fs9 screen all scrunched and distorted. Luckily I set a restore point before installing my driver so I just did a System Restore. If you are using Windows XP then maybe you can restore to an earlier state.

If you can't do that then try a driver cleaning tool. There are several out there. Just do a Google search for "Driver Cleaner". Most likely your older driver isn't reinstalling because some updated component of the bad one is still lingering around. You'll need to completely remove all traces of the bad driver and reinstall the older version.

Great !  I've downloaded Driver Cleaner 3.3 and I've succeeded at the first attempt !

Now FS9 runs perfectly, even with an old driver

I will check for a new reliable one

Thank you a lot
