Hi .  I have a little "issue" that seems to have cropped up on me and I am at a loss........

I hope this is the right place to get an answer to this question.  In some ways it is really FS2004 related..... so this might eventually get posted up there if I can't find someone to answer it down here.

Running Win XP home..... current updates kept in place from MS website ..... done again as of two days ago.  Running fs2004 using the no-CD patch downloaded here from SimV (yes... I have a legal copy!).  Machine is scanned virus free with McAffee updated online daily.  See general specs on trailer.

Sometimes... even often..... when I exit from fs2004 ....... and then go and check what is running by hitting ctrl/alt/delete.... I find that there is fs9.exe still listed in the processes listing.  It is NOT showing on the task bar...and is NOT really "running" in the normal sense of the word.

Sometimes if I start fs2004 say three times and then exit three times I can find THREE copies of that fs9.exe still listed at the same time.

Then if that listing is there and I then try to shut down Windows....... it takes a long time closing ...... and then a window pops up with an error message that says something like  "GDLSP_ASYNCWND_CLASS is not responding" and gives me the option to "end task" on that.  If I hit "end task"...... Windows immediately shuts down quickly as normal.

SO...... what the heck is up?    ???  ???

Sounds odd I have never noticed that before. But I'll take a look next time I fly to see if it happens too me.
Are you always connected to the internet? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I wonder if it has something to do with the system cache???

That's a nasty one, I'm not a software expert, but those class files are familiar to me as ActiveX components installed by websites to your PC. They are powerful and assert control over aspects of your PC. ( I could be way off track here by the way!)

It may be addon software you or a server has installed onto your PC, in any case, it appears to be causing problems, do an intensive search of your PC to get to the bottom of it, you can delete the "class" item.

GoTo: internet options/programs/manage addons  (my browser/options may be diferent from yours)


(I can't remember offhand exactly where they are. I think the registry... but do a search for it). In any case try to find out what it is before taking action when you do find it.


You might benefit from running HijackThis.

Then do a google search for "hijackthis logfiles" and post your log into one of the forums for analysis.
