Problem with Orbiter

Postby bozotheclown338 » Thu Jul 15, 2004 10:53 pm

I really wanted Orbiter, and I downloaded everything required except the textures- which is the problem. It downloads until it reaches about 70% and it makes the noise like when any download finishes but never is. I tried more then once and it stops at like 70%, 80%, and 65%. And I'm getting sick of trying becuase I have dial-up and it downloads at 6.5kb/s  :P ::) and its on AOL which is no help. Anybody know what could be the problem? ??? It occasionally does this to other large downloads so its not the site.

P.S. The comercials for AOL are lies! Its not #1! Once I get Comcast, the cd is gonna be tortured like my old keyboard! (baseball bats, stomping on it, sister drives her car over it) or I might use a lighter on it ;D. Destroying the keyboard was kind of a family moment how we all took a hit at it- except my dad sinc he bought it.

Put the CD in the microwave.
The lights, the pretty lights!

As for the download, I've never had or heard of this problem.
Perhaps locating a mirror site would solve the issue.

I've had this problem also...

Try using a different mirror and downloading the file during off-peak times :)

What are some other sites with it? I know its on Avsim but I can never get a dowload off there, brings up the "Action Cancelled" message. I found out that I could still play it, but everything is grey except the Dragonfly which was from another download. So I guess we live on the grey planet ::)

What are some other sites with it?

Have a look at the link below, about half way down the page there are alternative download sites. I had some success with the second one...

[glb]USA - Huntsville, AL (site 1)[/glb]

When do you reccomend me downloading it?

I don't know, try at about midnight ???
