It ran fine on Windows 98, but now my codecs don't work on XP.

I've always used PowerDVD. Got PowerDVD 5.0 and it's got lots of nice features. Now if only I could find a soundcard that could decode DTS.

My computer came with one so I just put in a DVD and it plays it.

All the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs sound cards decode DTS audio if you have nice speakers its a very good option :)
